Britons need to be ‘less squeamish’ about drinking water from sewage, says agency head

Britain's water companies are now considering a 'toilet-to-tap' system that will see old sewage being used again to provide drinking water - to prevent water shortages in future heatwaves.  The Daily Mail reported.

The head of the Environment Agency has suggested Brits may need to become “less squeamish” about drinking recycled lavatory water in the future. Joe.co.uk reported.

Writing in the Sunday Times, Sir James Bevan outlined measures the government, water companies and ordinary people should be taking to avoid severe droughts. The Guardian reported.
