In this video I'll share to you what supplements you must take to lower your blood pressure that have scientific evidence. Number 1, Magnesium. According to a study, magnesium increases the effectiveness of all antihypertensive drug classes. Oral magnesium improves blood pressure through different biochemical reaction mechanisms. It increases nitric oxide, blocks calcium channel, improves endothelial dysfunction, and induces direct and indirect vasodilatation. Number 2, folic acid. Epidemiologic evidence suggest that a deficiency of folic acid may lead to hypertension, and a negative association between plasma folic acid and blood pressure has been reported. Extra folic acid has been shown to improve endothelial dysfunction. Endothelium is a membrane that lines the inside of the heart and blood vessel. It is a major regulator vascular relaxation and contraction. When it's already impaired, it releases substances that increases the blood pressure. Hypertensive patients already have impaired endothelial function, which is why supplementation such as folic acid, that improves endothelial function is important. Number 3, l-arginine. Arginine is an amino acid that also improves endothelial function. L-arginine is required by the endothelial enzyme endothelial nitric oxide synthase to produce nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is known to induce vasodilation, which in turn lowers blood pressure. Number 4, turmeric. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory herb, its bioactive compound is curcumin, which helps reduce inflammation and oxidation. Chronic inflammations in the body, caused by aging chronic inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and cancer are associated with hypertension. Inflammation in the body releases inflammatory cytokines, reactive oxygen species, oxidized L-D-L, auto-antibodies and traditional risk factors that activate endothelial cells. Activated endothelial cells leads to impaired vascular relaxation and generation of a pro-thrombotic state, which are features of hypertension and atherosclerosis. Turmeric can help you manage and prevent these chronic inflammations that don't have good effects in your blood pressure.
