Kyiv residents were alarmed by possible radiation fallout on Friday morning (August 26), the day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said a radiation disaster had been narrowly avoided as electricity to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was cut for hours due to Russian shelling in the area. A Russian official said Ukraine was to blame.
