I Woke up One Morning and My Country was Gone

Adela Raz served as the last ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the United States from July 2021 to February 2022. She resigned her ambassadorship after her country fell to the Taliban. Raz was also the first woman to hold the office of Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations. Raz shared her story with the Women's Caucus Roundtable at the 49th Annual ALEC Meeting.
