Are You Ready?

Behavioural experiments can actually be rather fun, as you can control quite a few variables within your experiment. You can even test out a mistake without the mistake being too impactful, yet gives you an indication of what could occur if a mistake is made.

Behavioural experiments are used in therapy to help a person test out whether their anxiety, fears and worries are justified – and give the control back into their hands by deciding the variables they will use to test out the initial theory.

This is a rather powerful tool in CBT, in order to gather information, analyse it, see if it aligns with the initial theory, and work from there. It is a proactive approach that puts the control back into your hands.
