Geoffrey Serdar, “This is Real Talk with Geoffrey, and we're gonna be talking about staging today.”

Geoffrey Serdar, “The fact is we all live in our homes and as you know, nothing is a museum when we're living in it. And when we're getting a place ready for photography and video, we have to make some adjustments. As we bring in a videographer and a photographer that everything is captured in its highest graces to make it the most complete and best for real estate photos. When we shoot a kitchen, obviously we need to have a water bottle, but we don't want the water bottle in the shot. We don't want these like little mistakes, little things to be in there because that's just an eyesore. Even though we can take everything out in the post, meaning the editing process after we take the shot, we still wanna make it the best that it possibly can be.”

Geoffrey Serdar, "So we got a big counter, there were appliances and different things needed in a kitchen. We had everything removed. One of the rules that I think is always best, only one item at the absolute maximum every three feet square. So right here we put some flowers, these are from the garden and it just kind of adds a little pop of color, nothing else, everything else is unnecessary. This coffee machine was actually right over here, but this corner, this is actually the most difficult corner in every kitchen. So we take the nice espresso machine, we pop it over there, and it just makes the room look a little bit nicer. You know towels, you gotta have fresh white towels in your bathrooms. We bought some fresh ones, but listen, a pantry, not every home has a pantry. So when you do have a pantry, obviously when you live at home, it's gonna be full, but we made some suggestions, we've removed a lot of items. Now it looks like this pantry has a lot of room, we could put more in that, and that's what we're really trying to accomplish. We're trying to accomplish the idea and the reality that when someone lives here and they're cooking, they actually have a lot of negative space to continue filling this with more groceries and such.”

Geoffrey Serdar, “All right, let's go into the master bedroom. Now the master bedroom had darker bedding. Now life is all about preferences, but here, the darker bedding just doesn't look as great in video and photography so we just made a suggestion, let's lighten the bedding. And that way the room feels larger than it actually is. Now, this is a great-sized room, we got a nice little bathroom going. Here's a little touch. We wanna make sure drawers are closed, but there was just negative space. Now in bathrooms, we'd like to add a little bit of textiles, a few white towels, fresh, doesn't that just make the bathroom look a little bit better. It just kind of feels like it's not a spot, it's a bathroom, but having that there just give it just a little bit extra. It makes the bathroom feel nicer. Hey guinea pigs, thanks for being in Real Talk with Geoffrey, right? Okay.”
