(Links below) Okay, I'll be the first to admit that title is a little drastic/drama oriented. However, it is pretty awesome that I can source the majority of my groceries from my buddy's homestead. I already get eggs, goats milk, bread, brownies, and soon - chicken, veggies, and fruit. Pretty awesome, I'm ready for garden fresh food! I'll be looking to do the same at my place next season.

Definition of "Off-Grid": Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities.

Definition of "Homesteading": Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work for household use or sale. Pursued in different ways around the world—and in different historical eras—homesteading is generally differentiated from rural village or commune living by isolation (either socially or physically) of the homestead.
