• Matt 14:6-7 At Herod's birthday party, with wine flowing freely, Herodias told her daughter to dance. Herodias' daughter complied, dancing seductively and sensually. Herod, probably under the influence of much wine, said, "Whatever you want to the half of my kingdom, you've got it." That is the most reckless statement that can ever be made by a sane person. At this point though, he was temporarily insane.

• Matt 14:8 Herodias, angry with John the Baptist, instructed her daughter to ask for John's head. These kind of reactions always come from broken, devastated people whose lives are permanently scarred because they were playing the game, trying to get ahead. Watch out for an environment wherein alcohol is flowing, and seductive music is playing. It doesn't matter what the society thinks or say. It doesn't matter what the expectations are, if it's not right, it is not. Watch out. Herodias is dancing. You'll get sucked in, and you'll regret it later. Don't be caught with the wrong crowd, in the wrong atmosphere, where God's hands can't reach you.

• Matt. 14:9-11 Herod did not want to kill John the Baptist, but he gave the order so that he wouldn't be embarrassed in front of his guests. How easy it is to give in to the crowd and to let ourselves be pressured into doing wrong. Don't get in a situation where it will be too embarrassing to do what is right. Determine to do what is right, no matter how embarrassing or painful it may be.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to be in the right assembly, making the right decisions at the right time in Jesus' name! Eccl. 8:6 MSG
Yes, there’s a right time and way for everything, even though, unfortunately, we miss it for the most part.

Daily Protection Covenant Declaration
Because I dwell in the secret place of the most High, I shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.
