In Riga, the sculpture "Motherland" fell during dismantling and split.

This sculpture was part of the monument to the Liberators of Riga, which was dismantled by decision of the Latvian authorities.

In the video shown by the portal, it was recorded that caterpillar excavators deliberately pushed the statue off the pedestal. After that, it fell to the ground and broke.

And the country's government, in turn, stated that all parts of the monument would be destroyed, because "they do not represent artistic value."

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Latvia sent a note of protest to the country's Foreign Ministry due to the demolition of the monument. The actions of the authorities of the republic were called "a barbaric Russophobic trick" and "another act of vandalism at the state level."
