HOW DO I INCREASE MY NUMBER OF FRIENDS, FOLLOWERS, TRIBE, INFLUENCE?

The more we mature, the more we would expect our questions and concerns to follow suit. Unfortunately, we find the questions are the same. Today they were in the elementary cafeteria, they are simply vocalized differently.

What we asked then was, how do get more friends, better friends, truer friends, more reliable friends. Today that question takes on the tone of social media and digital marketing. How can I increase my number of friends (followers), get more likes (increase the level of engagement), get them to stay my friend (grow brand loyalty), to become BFF’s (build reliable customer retention)?

EXPAND YOUR UNIVERSE
If you want to have more friends, BECOME A FRIEND to more people! That means you will need to reach out, meet new people, offer yourself to serve strangers, take a risk that they won’t like you. Be a friend To as many people as you can anyway. Not just a “social media friend” but become a real friend with all the qualities you seek.

ENGAGE LIKE A REAL FRIEND
If you want people to buy from you, buy from them. If you want people to tell others about your business along with the products and services you offer, tell the world about theirs FIRST. If you want people to choose you over other people who offer the same or similar products and services, CHOOSE THEM FIRST. This is how friendships work.

BUILD ON A GOOD THING
Only a fool is loyal to someone who mistreats them or takes advantage of them repeatedly. BRAND LOYALTY and BFFs are cut from the same cloth. The KIND OF PERSON you are, if consistent with the quality of product or service you offer, will gain you much grace and patience when (not if) you make a mistake. If you have been rude, curt, impatient with a friend or customer, the likelihood they will tolerate mistakes is slim. Their tolerance for carelessness has already been spread thin by you.

BECOME THE PERSON PEOPLE WANT AS A FRIEND
If you are always going above and beyond what is expected or required and doing so with kindness and good intent, you will have much equity to bank on in your exchange. Loyalty to you as a person will always precede loyalty to you product or brand. If you are love able, more likely you will be beloved. If you are hard to handle, people will move along.
