Long-range CFS model projections indicate a series of upper-level troughs bringing cooler and more pleasant air across the Great Lakes Region over the next several weeks. As we approach September, those troughs appear to continue bringing cooler air that may keep high temperatures lower than average. These trends indicate signs of an early fall. Farmer's Almanac, whose winter outlooks usually remain fairly accurate, projects a unreasonably cold and snowy winter for the Great Lakes Region.
