08.14.22 "Stop Living Life to Be Safe" with Rev. Tony Ponticello

One only needs to be safe if one is in danger. So … being safe is actually antithetical to ACIM which clearly teaches "I am in danger nowhere in the world." (OrEd.WkBk.244) However this doesn’t mean we should be careless either. ACIM has a clear teaching on this as well, "You need be neither careful nor careless; you need merely cast your cares upon Him, because He careth for you." (OrEd.Tx.5.9) Our society has evolved (maybe devolved is a better word) to promoting a state of hyper vigilance over body and sometimes emotional safety. A couple of days ago I was making an appointment for a service call over the phone. The agent ended the conversation with the closing remark, “Stay safe.” I was taken aback and said nothing. Maybe next time I will speak out. I have no intention to stay safe. I live at risk, and trust Holy Spirit to guide me through the maze of life. He/She has done a pretty good job so far. 33 min.
