The headquarters of Russia's Black Sea fleet was hit by a drone early Saturday, Russian officials said, as strikes strikes continued on military targets in the annexed Crimean Peninsula. NBC News is reporting.

For the second time in less than a month, Russia’s naval base at Sevastopol has come under a drone attack. Plumes of smoke were seen rising after the incident on Saturday morning, which the Russian-appointed governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said came after a drone flew over the sensitive military site. The Guardian reported.

The incidents came just one day after Moscow confirmed that Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov had taken over as commander of the fleet in the wake of a spate of setbacks. RadiaFreeEurope reported.
