To Own or Not to Own - Show Notes

Summary:
Many believers are confused by the actions of the Apostles and early church saints who sold all their belongings to follow Christ. Their churches are teaching them this was an optional choice the early church made, and you have the same option today. But is this true? Is there a purpose behind owning nothing to follow Christ in the 1st Century?

Notes:
Based on the kingdom message:

    •    To Israel only (national salvation)
    •    Not to gentiles
    •    The kingdom was offered to the nation
    •    They were not to own money
    •    They were to perform miraculous signs

Scripture References:
All Scripture references are cited from the King James Bible.

Matthew 19:16-26, Matthew 19:27-30, Matthew 10:5-10, Acts 3:1-7, Acts 2:41-47, Acts 4:31-37, Matthew 24:14-21, Matthew 24:22-25, Jeremiah 30:7-11, Revelation 13:11-17, James 5:1-8, Acts 1:6-8, Acts 5:1-6, Acts 11:27-30, Romans 15:25-29, Romans 11:7-13, Romans 11:25-27, 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Takeaway:
To the 12 Apostles and early believers in Jerusalem, selling all their belongings was not an option! It was commanded them to do so, as they fully expected to go through the Tribulation, being tempted to take the mark of the beast in order to buy and sell. God knew exactly what He was doing when he instructed them to provide neither silver nor gold in their purse!
