Do NOT do this to "regular" 18650 cells! Regular Lithium Ion/polymer (oxide-based) cells have hazardous electrolyte that is volatile and can be combustible. The illustrated Lithium Iron Magnesium Phosphate cells pack a much lower energy density and are less prone to self-sustained metal fire. This illustration is for educational purpose. Loss of property or life, with unimaginable pain throughout the process is likely without proper awareness and precaution.
