I go a bit deeper than usual for the real explanation of the most important insight in ethics - David Hume's so called "is-ought gap". It is as good as certain that the layman insight into ethics goes no further than "violating" this gap and many an ambitious moral philosopher has been tearing out his hair in frustration over how impossible it seems to bridge this gap ...
