Rider's comments - "This is one of those close calls that was mostly out of my control. If I had slowed down when I saw the yellow light, I could have avoided it, but with a car behind me, sudden braking could have put me in another bad situation.

Anyways, I was headed through downtown, where I was hitting all the green lights and was enjoying the pace I was at. Later though, one of those green lights had finally turned yellow, but I was close enough to it that slowing down for it would be riskier than making it through. Sadly, I was in a lose-lose situation.

Somebody was flying up to the intersection hidden behind a corner where I couldn't see them. It was only once I was entering the intersection where I could, only to realize they weren't stopping for their light. I was at a point where I realize, but there wasn't anything I could really do. The only thing I could manage was a minor swerve, but I would still be in their path of travel either way. It was just my stroke of luck that they realized at the very last second to slow down, and that saved my ass. I am grateful, but not happy. Lots of drivers make mistakes, and some of those are due to poor driving conditions, but what this driver did was outright negligent and stupid."
