On August 16, 2022, Oconee County Deputies captured the fugitive, Muhammed Bilal El-Amin, during a routine traffic stop. El-Amin was on the run for 28 years – he was wanted by the FBI and Atlanta Police, accused of killing 18-year-old Jafferd Tucker at the Oakland City MARTA station in southwest Atlanta on November 27, 1994. Bodycam video shows El-Amin repeatedly trying to convince deputies to let him go.

“I beg you, I beg of you all,” he said, “I have children, I have a sick uncle and I run the household.... I’m not a criminal, I’m not a crook,” says El-Amin.
