On this week's podcast, Bret Amundson and Dan Amundson are joined by Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Regional Fishing Manager Brian Nerbonne to talk about the Mille Lacs Lake walleye regulation changes. Brian talks about what the changes to the regulations are and why the DNR made the changes. He also talks about what is affecting the walleye population on Mille Lacs along with some good news for perch fishing. Brian and Dan discuss the smallmouth bass boom on Mille Lacs as well.
Then the crew is joined by Joe Henry who has another Lake of the Woods fishing report. He talks about what water levels are doing and how some anglers are catching big walleyes in the Rainy River already.
Randin Olson joins us from a unique location to talk about an aggressive trolling technique he's been using to catch walleyes in August. He gives us locations, depth and lure choices to catch walleyes in Otter Tail County.
