A CUTE CARDINAL DEFENDING TERRITORY AGAINST, OR GREETING, "ANOTHER BIRD" (ITS OWN REFLECTION)!

This little non-migratory northern cardinal came to the mirror-tint tinted glass of the sliding doors that lead into and from the gated atrium for a number of mornings in a row to confront or, depending on what exactly was going on in that little brain, to greet what it evidently thought was another of its kind, or maybe even another species of bird altogether.

Pecking at the "other bird" repeatedly, and mounting up with wingbeats against the glass, the reddish songbird, which has a range from southeasten Canada down throughout the USA even into Mexico, would eventually fly off, twitting. The quandary in that little brain probably was, "And all the while that bird was doing everything I was doing!" 😂
