Residents of the villages of Timonovo and Soloti are taken to a safe distance, said the head of the Russian region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

An ammunition depot in the Belgorod region caught fire on the territory of Russia. This was announced by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel Thursday evening, August 18th.

“A warehouse with ammunition caught fire near the village of Timonovo, Valuysky urban district. According to the latest data, there are no casualties, there are no victims. The head of the district takes the residents of the villages of Timonovo and Solokhi to a safe distance. Operational services are working on the spot, the cause of the fire is being established,” Gladkov wrote.

Soloti has a population of about 650 and Timonovo has some 530 residents. The two settlements are located approximately 5.4 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

По словам губернатора, #пострадавших и #жертв в результате происшествия нет.

Гладков отметил, что глава Валуйского городского округа вывозит жителей поселков Тимоново и Солоти на безопасное расстояние. На месте ЧП работают оперативные службы.

Ранее сообщалось об инциденте на военном складе в Крыму. Известно, что пожар на территории обвалованной площадки временного хранения боеприпасов возник в результате диверсии.
