Defend Abortion Rights Protest - 02.07.22 Highlights - Thousands of Victorians marched in Melbourne, Australia in solidarity with US activists protesting against the overturning of Roe v Wade in the US Supreme Court. Although the ruling does not in anyway impact abortion rights in Victoria, activists and some politicians in Australia believe it may embolden political parties & lawmakers to reconsider abortion access in Australia.

Catherine Andrews the wife of Premier Daniel Andrews also attended the protest, and proclaimed that it was the first ever protest she has ever attended to stand with people fighting for their rights: "Went to my first protest ever today to stand in solidarity with everyone across the United States who are fighting for their rights. Abortion is health care. Health care is a human right."
