Blenheim, our whippet, bit through the old double lead and so a new one had to be obtained pronto. This lead got decent reviews and was well priced and so it seemed a good buy.

The lead arrived promptly enough, packed in a reusable ziplock back. Also in the bag and clipped to the lead was a dispensing drum containing a small number of rather thin black poo bags, along with a keyring style dog training clicker. I did not realise these were included and so it was a nice bonus. The poo bags are not particularly good ones but adequate for an emergency and the clicker is good and loud and does seem to get the attention of the dogs.

As regards the lead, it consists of a medium length grip section, which is double stitched but not reinforced with plastic as the previous one was, and a metal clip which attaches to the twin leashes. The leashes are attached to a central metal O ring which is in turn attached to a rotating metal ring to which the grip section clips. When assembled the grip section can rotate fully around the central clip. The twin leash sections, which attach to the collars of the two dogs, is reinforced and elasticated. The lead also features high visibility reflective white stitching. The total length of the lead from grip to dog is 57.7” normal and 72.7” fully extended.

The elasticated leashes give the dogs a bit more freedom and help to reduce tangles but does make it a bit harder to control the dogs. If one or both dogs suddenly lunge forward it is impossible to restrain them until they reach the limit of the elasticated leads - from 20 to 35 inches . Does that make sense? It means the dogs can jump forward or to the side for around 12" before they can be restrained properly.

In general, the design of the leads is good although they are lighter in weight than I would like but perfectly adequate for my two small to medium sized dogs.

This is a decent quality lead, good for the £13.99 price but next time I will pay more in the hope of getting a stronger and better made alternative.
