A Booming sector of the Indian beauty industry is skin lightening. The most popular products have titles like White Perfect and Fair and Lovely and are made by the biggest western cosmetic companies in the world.

Of course, in this day and age will look up to actors and celebrities, and most of the most successful people have fair skin. Fair skin indicates that you are more affluent.

This was a sign of wealth. Unfortunately, this kind of racism does exist in countries like India as well. Whether in the situation of marriage or even in school, people tend to make fun of kids with darker skin.

Don't let these things stop you. But today and age, so many successful people, artists, and YouTubers bloggers have a bigger audience than even mainstream celebrities.

So, just because that industry is not accepting you because of the color of your skin, that doesn't mean that you can't pursue your own goals. And there's more opportunity available in this day and age to become successful in almost anything that you set your mind to.
