THE BIGGER THE LIE IS THE EASIER IT IS TO SELL. A LIE TOLD LONG ENOUGH AND OFTEN ENOUGH BECOMES THE TRUTH.

It’s really amazing but absolutely true that first person to lie is believed most of the time. It’s also amazing that the more outlandish a lie is, the more extravagant the exaggeration is, the more likely it will be accepted. Sadly, this means manipulation is easier on a grander scale than on subtleties. It’s also true that an enormous deception can be perpetrated by means of several small and incremental tricks which are easy to hide and hard to prove.

Decpetion on a grand scale, otherwise known as fraud in most cases happens in banking, politics, international business, espionage and abusive relationships. The small, almost imperceptible deceptions generally lead to grand scale manipulation of systems, processes and policies. Like embezzlement, tax fraud and other forms of cheating, that BIG EFFORT to win would be easily detected. The small moves will go unnoticed, until the WIN is stolen and the cheating is accepted as irrevocably unprovable.

Leaders MUST be vigilant, diligent, focused and attentive to the schemers and trickery used to manipulate and deceive. Leaders must be accountable to a higher standard and guarded to uphold it.
