You can grow duck, fish, and vegetables in this system. That’s eggs and rice on the same land. What I like most about this book are the clear illustrations. It is clear to the reader this system scales well.

Duck rice farming makes for a viable homestead solution, plus allows sufficient income to pay for itself. This method works beyond Japan, where the author originated. Many indigenous systems have similar concepts, but this book makes it easy to understand.
