Ammunition detonation in northern Crimea continues, result of sabotage (P2)

1a. Ammunition detonation at a storage site in the Dzhankoi district of Crimea continues, region’s head Sergey Aksenov said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.

"I am in the village of Azovsky, Dzhankoi district, where this morning, according to the Defense Ministry, a fire broke out on the territory of the temporary storage site of one of the military units’ ammunition. At the moment the detonation continues," Aksenov wrote.

He added that a five-kilometer zone is cordoned off around the incident site, people are being evacuated. "We are providing assistance on the spot. Ambulances, law enforcement agencies are mobilized in sufficient numbers," the Crimean head noted.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, on August 16, around 06:15 Moscow time near the village of #Mayskoye (#Dzhankoi district of Crimea), a fire broke out on the territory of the banked site for temporary storage of ammunition of one of the military units. The fire triggered the detonation of the ammunition.

1b. A military warehouse in the area of ​​the settlement of Dzhankoy was damaged as a result of #sabotage. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"On the morning of August 16, as a result of sabotage, a military warehouse was damaged in the area of ​​the settlement of Dzhankoy", - it is noted in the message.

2. Аксенов: двое пострадали при ЧП на севере Крыма

"Нахожусь в селе Азовском Джанкойского района, где сегодня утром, по данным Министерства обороны, произошло #возгорание на территории площадки временного хранения боеприпасов одной из воинских частей", – рассказал Аксенов на видео, которое появилось в его Telegram-канале.

По словам главы республики, #детонация в настоящее время продолжается. Пострадали двое гражданских, угрозы их жизни нет.

Проводится #эвакуация местных жителей – их выводят за пятикилометровую зону. Задействованы силы МЧС, Минобороны, Росгвардии, экстренные службы. Кроме того, на месте находятся представители властей.

Ранее сегодня в соцсетях сообщили о возгорании в селе Майском Джанкойского района Крыма. Позднее в Минобороны сообщили, что около 06:15 в районе населенного пункта Майское произошло возгорание на территории обвалованной площадки временного хранения боеприпасов одной из воинских частей. В результате боеприпасы сдетонировали.
