In this video I will help you learn how to convert expanded structural formula into skeletal formula. This is a critical skill any organic chemistry student will need to learn to be successful.

Expanded structural formula show you all the details of a structure. All the bonds and all the atoms must be drawn. In a condensed structural formula some of the structural details are removed and the reader is left to interpret parts of the structure. In a condensed structural formula segments of the molecule are abbreviated as groups such as methyl (CH3) or methylene (CH2) as so on.
