The Foolishness of Preaching - Show Notes

Summary:
God once showed the world His wisdom, and this wisdom was rejected by men when men rejected God as Creator. As they turned and worshipped the “creature” for the secret, dark knowledge, God turned to save men through the foolishness of preaching.

Notes:
From the Strong’s Concordance:

After - Greek: epeidē -  when now, since now
of time: when now, after that
of cause: since, seeing that, forasmuch as

Wisdom - Greek: sophia - wisdom, broad and full of intelligence; used of the knowledge of very diverse matters

Foolishness - Greek:  mōria  - foolishness

Scripture References:
All Scripture references are cited from the King James Bible.

1 Corinthians 1:20-24, Acts 13:46, Acts 14:12, Matthew 11:18-19, Proverbs 1:20-33, Proverbs 2:6, Psalm 19:1-14, Romans 1:18-23, 1 Corinthians 1:21, 1 Corinthians 3:19, Proverbs 19:3, Psalm 14:1-4, 1 Corinthians 1:25-31, 1 Corinthians 4:9-13, 1 Corinthians 4:9-13, Ephesians 3:8-11, Colossians 2:16-19, 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, Ephesians 6:10-13, Ephesians 6:14-20

Takeaway:
Not many wise, not many mighty, not many noble are called. This is because the wisdom of the world blinds the elites to the truth of God. It would take humility to acknowledge we are sinners in need of a Savior. The rich and powerful lack this humility and thus drown themselves in their own hubris. God chose the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe!
