Don't Lose Heart! * John 14:1 * Today's Verses

In the previous passage, Jesus predicted His Betrayal and told Peter he would deny knowing Jesus. In this passage, Jesus is comforting his disciples. He tells them not to be overcome by their feelings about His death or their failures. Furthermore, when Jesus tells them to believe in God and Him, He makes a two-fold statement. First, He tells them they can find comfort in their faith. Second, Jesus is telling them not to lose their faith when all of their hope is gone when they see him crucified. In essence, Jesus is saying, "trust God and trust Me. Be faithful and find comfort in your faith, and everything will be fine."
