After the regular season ended in mid-to-late April, the top eight teams in the east and West began a playoff battle to determine the east and west champions, to advance to the NBA Finals. The NBA Finals MVP is awarded to the player who performs best in the NBA Finals. The player who scores the most points gets the FMVP
