Real Estate FRAUD? 🏡 Snacks BAD at open houses? It’s a Realtystream, Join Me!!

Good Afternoon! We started the show talking about a little scenario: What would you do if you were in John’s shoes? When a buyer wants to buy a house, you know the market is starting to turn, so where should your offer be? Should you be as aggressive as you would have been this summer?

We then talked about the 14th anniversary of the passing of Bernie Mac. How can it have been this long? Time goes by so fast, and it’s just a shame. Our country lost a great entertainer with Bernie Mac.

We took a look at mortgage rates..they’ve dropped a little bit over the past week

Our first article we discussed was about a case of fraud in Massachusetts. Apparently, the seller of the property had a similar name to some rando and he was able to convince a bank notary and buyer that he was the legitimate purchaser. There has always been a tinge of fraud in real estate…we talk about ways to protect yourself.

For our second article, we went deep on a very serious question. What does a real estate agent serve at an open house post pandemic? John talked about what he enjoyed at open houses, but sadly, he hasn’t had the opportunity for great food served at open houses, lending him to believe this tradition may be regional.

Would you be surprised that your landlord was figuring out ways to intimidate you into moving out without formally evicting you? We wouldn’t be. That’s exactly what seems to have happened in a story out of Texas. It’s a shame that some landlords are horrible people and make everyone look bad.

Moving along, there are 3 tips to finding a good listing agent? What are they?
1. Hire an agent who knows your area
2. Make sure your agent has a solid marketing plan
3. Talk to former clients to find out their experience

Those seem like solid bits of advice.

Our last article was about what home sellers should begin to expect now that it appears that the market has started to slow. John had a few quibbles with the article but for the most part, having been through ups and down in the marketplace over more than a decade, John thinks he will be ok.
