Dye the Safe Guy reviews the Gardall TL15-1818 Commerical High Security Safe and talks about the features, benefits, and specifications.

Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here, Dye Hawley Sales Manager at SafeandVaultStore.com here to talk about the Gardall TL15-1818 Burglar Fire Rated Safe. Gardall is one of the premier safe manufacturers in North America. There are only 5 or 6 companies that make TL-15 and higher rated TL-30 rated safes. Gardall is probably the only one that tries desperately to maintain stock and inventory because the other 4 or 5 companies have been running out of these safes regularly for the last few years.

This one has an Underwriters Laboratory TL-15 Burglar Rating. It also has a one hour fire rating. As you can see, this one has the optional digital electronic lock which is an extra cost, but it is also available with a dial combination lock. The dimensions on this safe are 23" high, 23" wide, and 19-3/4" deep.

Gardall has a unique presentation on their boltwork. Instead of the round bolts, Gardall uses this solid steel bar that when it retracts and goes in behind the main body, it is a fortress. We feel since we manufactured safes for 60+ years ourselves, that this is better than the standard round door bolts that all the other competitors are using. I mean look at the thickness of this door.

Also, there are two anchor holes and they include the concrete anchors here for you so your safe installation person can install the safe into your concrete floor. Here are the anchor holes. There is also an adjustable shelf here which is movable up and down.

Just to clarify the Underwriters Laboratory burglar ratings. Underwriters Lab started rating safes back in the late '50s and early '60s. The TL-15 burglar rating. If you buy this safe and anchor it in your home and you have no burglar alarm system whatsoever, your insurance company could insure this for somewhere between $100,000 - $120,000 in content value. If you have a burglar alarm system and you anchor the safe in your home, you can double that to $200,000 - $240,000 in total content value. So in simple terms, you call up your homeowner's insurance agent, tell them what kind of safe it is, if you have an alarm on your home or not, and if you want to insure the contents. You don't have to. Those amounts are what I was telling you about.

Thank you for listening. We really appreciate you looking at this quality North American-built safe by Gardall. This is Dye the Safe Guy signing off and saying stay safe. If you have any questions please give us a call at 800-207-2259.
