New parsnip trench

Gardening on a beach requirs a different approach to growing root vegetables. The section on the property where I live by the beach has a layer of grass with a thin layer of rivers stones then sand to more than a half metre deep. The trench is 4 metres long. The trench was cut through to the layer of sand then using the piece of plastic pipe driven into the sand with a rubber hammer to approximately half a metre. Biochar, kelp, kelp meal and human pee has been added to the bottom of the trench and will be back filled with sieved compost.
