Ukrainian Antarctic station

Note: The Vernadsky Research Base is the only Ukrainian Antarctic station. It is located at Marina Cape on Galindez Island, 7 km from the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. It operates continuously and is a meteorological and geographical observatory. The main purpose of the station is to conduct scientific research in Antarctica.

Great Britain handed it over to Ukraine in 1996.
