Using up Pears! Pear Custard Bars and Apple Pear Crisp!

Lori Fiechter here, watching that pile of pears dwindle away. Because I am not going to can anymore pears, I have to use them up some other way. I am going to make one more batch of jam and freeze more pears for smoothies but today I made some desserts. Both of these are easy desserts with plenty of fruit and not so much sugar. I eat the apple-pear crisp with Greek style yogurt for breakfast; it's a great combo! The pear custard bars are similar to the peach kuchen my mom used to make (only with pears...I'm thinking I could use the same recipe with peaches or berries, too)

And they taste good!
