Some people say net carbs are not a thing and you need to count fiber as a carb, some say you should count fiber at 50% because it is partially digestible, I say net carbs are all you need for healthy keto. Today I explain why that is true.

Progress as of today....
~ Weight on the 9th of Oct. – 216.4 - my last video in this series
~ Weight as of this morning the 9th of October – 216
~ Total body weight and percentage since Aug 12 (59 days) 31 pounds – 12.55% of starting weight

Today we discuss something a lot of Keto folks tend to say that just isn’t true. That is you don’t need to count vegetable carbs or that some how carbs from some things are good vs. bad carbs.

The Reality behind Net Carbs and Total Carbs

1. There are two types of fiber soluble and insoluble
2. Most vegetables are between 70-80% insoluble in their fiber content.
3. Insoluble fiber is 100% non digestible
4. Soluble is partially digestible but this occurs only in the lower intestine.
5. Soluble fiber is then converted to short chain fatty acids and these do not effect glucose levels.
6. Soluble fiber is also its own offset in that it slows the absorption of other carbs.
7. These diets were developed with the concept of net carbs in the first place.
