TEXT: Numbers 21:5-9

In our last message, we saw how many people, including Christians have lost hope, in part to their disobedience against God. In this passage, we see the entering of sin in the world. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were afflicted with a curse. The world was no longer perfect because they were no longer using their free will to obey God. Here, the sin of the Israelites causes them to be bitten by venomous serpents and many of them died. When we look at the world today and all the sin and strife that is in it, it is easy for us to lose hope. However, God does not leave us to suffer on earth without something to have hope in.
