Why are you far away, LORD? Why do you hide in times of trouble?
The wicked in their arrogance furiously persecute the poor; be caught in the snares they have devised.
For the wicked boast of his soul's desire; he blesses the covetous, and renounces the Lord.
By the haughtiness of his countenance the wicked do not seek God; all his cogitations are that there is no God.
His ways always torment; your judgments are far from his sight in a great height, and he despises his enemies.
He says in his heart: I will not be shaken, for I will never see myself in adversity.
His mouth is full of curses, of deceit, and of cunning; under his tongue is malice and malice.
He ambushes villages; in hidden places he kills the innocent; his eyes are secretly fixed on the poor man.
He lies in wait in his hiding place, like a lion in his lair; he lays snares to rob the poor; he robs him, trapping him in his net.
