A Memorial Service for Jimmy Dwayne Christenbury

Jimmy Dwayne Christenbury, 53, of Claremont passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

He was born February 15, 1967 in Catawba County to Jimmy and Sandra Herman Christenbury. Jimmy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover and was employed with Wesley Hall, Inc in Hickory. He was a 1985 graduate of Bunker Hill High School and enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and tinkering in mechanics.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William C. Christenbury and Anne B. Christenbury; maternal grandparents, Ralph E. Herman and Frances M. Herman; stepson, Brendon I. Taylor.

Step-Son: Zachary Jacob Taylor and wife Crystal of Denver

Daughters: Maggie Elizabeth Christenbury of Claremont

A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Scott Johnson and Rev. Anton Lagoutine will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Those serving as pallbearers are; Mark Sigmon, Mark Barnes, Glenn Brown, Zack Bolick, Joel Sigmon and Tyler Hatley.
