Michael Aschner, PhD: Mechanisms of Mercury Induced Neurodegeneration and Genetic Susceptibility

Dr. Michael Aschner is a Professor of Pediatrics, Pharmacology and Senior Investigator at the Kennedy Center of Research on Human Development. Dr. Aschner’s research interest is on the interaction between genetics and the environment in triggering disease both during CNS development and senescence. Dr. Aschner serves as the Harold and Muriel Block Chair in Molecular Pharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He served on numerous toxicology panels (Institute of Medicine, US Environmental Protection Agency, Center for Disease Control), and is a member of the Neurotoxicology and Alcohol study section (NIH).
