Hochul declares monkepox a state disaster emergency

Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state disaster emergency Friday in response to the ongoing monkeypox outbreak in New York. The order allows the state to respond more quickly to the outbreak and allows health care professionals to take additional steps that will help get more New Yorkers vaccinated.
