Stuart Varney to JD Vance: Are You Losing Because Trump Endorsed You?

Stuart Varney of Fox Business put J.D. Vance, the Republican candidate for the Ohio Senate seat, under pressure by inquiring as to whether former President Donald Trump's backing is the reason why he is trailing Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) in recent polls.

Trump decided to support Vance even though he had not been a devoted Trump follower from the beginning. Vance went on to win his primary in Ohio in May as a result of Trump's endorsement. Trump supported Vance over other Trump supporters while acknowledging that the author of HillBilly Elegy had previously insulted him.

Many others were eager to point to Trump's backing as a factor in Vance's victory. Vance has recently, however, lost ground to Ryan, according to polls.

If Vance is "behind in this campaign perhaps because you have Donald Trump's endorsement," asked Varney.
