Although the Meng Wanzhou's extradition case, has been investigated for almost two years, after her arrest in Canada early December 2018, a lot of witnesses are still contradicting each other. Latest news revealed that, a note with Meng Wanzhou's mobile phone password, had been voluntarily handed over to police, and during the second phase of the Meng Wanzhou extradition trial, Officer Gurvinder Dhaliwal of the Canadian Federal Police (RCMP), discovered several important details.

Dhaliwal claimed that the note with Meng Wanzhou's cell phone password was given to him by Scott Kirkland of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), while the latter testified that he "negligently" put the note and the phone in the same bag, and that the federal police obtained the code note therewith. If Officer Dhaliwal's testimony is true, then the Border Services Agency is suspected of violating customs laws ,by knowingly giving the police information about travelers obtained by customs.
