Wow! Lots to cover in today's Farm Vlog, Food Plot update and a special segment on smart financing, and how we will pay for my new Ravin R10 crossbow! Today, Nov 01, 2019, I am still working on my fall food plots for deer as I took out Mrs. Kapper's Hustler zero turn mower and trimmed one of my fall food plots to enhance it for deer. In between the plots we have some new blocks of crp warm season grasses growth. Also some clips of a big Illinois buck from my first sit on our farm, deer hunting 2019, which shows some nice bucks! Of course, after lots of rain lately, I got it stuck for over 20 minutes, but thankfully I was able to get it out without having to bring out the Polaris XP1000 or the Branson tractor! Join me for an up to the minute update on the fall food plots on our Illinois farm, and a big announcement that I just ordered a RAVIN R10 crossbow, but not only that, I'll go in to detail on some of our finances and how I can pay for such a large expenditure on a crossbow! Last year I bought a Bear Karnage crossbow for just over $200, and it simply just fell short of my hope and expectations for a new crossbow. The fall food plots that have been burned up by a late summer drought are finally starting to take hold and the deer are in them almost daily. Today I decided to mow a couple of areas that were taken over by some field grass weeds, to stimulate growth of the 4 grain food plot mix; Winter wheat, Winter Rye, Triticale, and oats. This practice should bring the deer back in to feed on the new chute growth that will come up after the light mowing.
