Barry Bennett uses the scriptures to clear up the confusion over The Apostle Paul's "Thorn in the Flesh". He shows us it was not what many have supposed, a physical illness, but persecution from Satan using people to oppose him every where he went as he preached the gospel. He was beaten, left for dead, thrown in jail, run out of town, hungry and without shelter often. Paul was a Jewish scholar use to much better circumstances and respect from the people. When he appealed to God to stop the persecution he was having to endure, the Lord told him, "My Grace is sufficient."
Paul came to realize that because of his previous high standing in the world which lead him to have to much pride, God was allowing the persecution to humble him and help him to put all his trust in the Lord, not in his own abilities. A great lesson for us all.
