SUMMARY & PERSONAL THOUGHTS
THIS ONE WAS A BEAUTY. Talk about a disaster detail though, the paint on this Tornado Red GTI was just in rough rough shape. Usually with a paint correction, I go in knowing how to initiate, but with this car having so many things like scratches, swirls, and worst of all, water etching, it definitely gave me a run for my money. Using Stoner's Compound though made it easy as heck, just note that if you use this stuff, its AGGRESSIVE! So, keep it on the shelf for hard paint such as a lot of European Cars like this. Definitely replacing Meguiar's M105 with this stuff for my aggressive needs!

The wash portion of the detail was actually super easy, the only issue was the Florida Summer Sun and it was baaad. Had to wash the vehicle in parts just to make sure I could micro-manage the water on the paint and try my best to keep it from drying. We are polishing though, so it didn't matter too much, but its good practice to try and prevent it as much as possible.

The entire paint correction was tough, long, but fun. We used Stoner's Compound, followed by Sonax Cut & Finish, and then wrapping it all up with Sonax Perfect Finish as usual! Definitely wanting to get some more compound/polishes from other companies now and really try more after using Stoner's. It just made me think "I know what I have works and I'm comfortable, but maybe it's time to start reaching out again and trying stuff." And thats exactly what I Plan on doing. After it was polished though, we used the usual Gtechniq Crystal Serum + EXO V4 to coat the GTI, and we were set!

Obviously we polished & coated the exhaust tips (even though he now has XForce Exhaust System), threw tire dressing on, etc. At the end of it all tough, the car was insanely nice! The Tornado Red is breathtaking. Plus it was nice to get a car with some color this time around!

The Clearcoat Compound is amazing! It truly is, but please note that it is very aggressive! Perfect for cutting away blemishes on hard paint, IE a lot of German Manufacturers.
