He lit a cigarette at the gas station and experienced the consequences.

A video from the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in which security cameras at a gas station recorded a driver lighting a cigarette while filling fuel is circulating on social networks. Despite the ever-present warnings that smoking and open flames are prohibited at gas stations, it seems that some people need experience to learn that gasoline vapors are highly flammable.

As the man decided to light a cigarette just above the speech opening on which the gasoline was dripping, the flame erupted as soon as his lighter sparked. Although he managed to get rid of the first flame, he made the situation even worse when he removed the hose, after which the gasoline that poured out of the hose caught fire.

The flames soon engulfed the entire car and the gas station, and the man panicked and got into the car and drove a little further, but a few moments later he returned and took a fire extinguisher and tried to stop the fire. Russian media claim that the man ended up in the hospital with burns on his legs, but that his life is not in danger. You can watch the footage from the surveillance cameras below.
