News Bulletin: ASEAN demands cessation of violence in Myanmar #shorts #news

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in a joint statement criticised Myanmar for lack of progress in ending violence in the country. The Myanmar military seized power from elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi in February 2021 and is accused of thousands of extrajudicial killings. ASEAN called for dialogue among all parties in Myanmar and the cessation of violence.
