After an eight-month pause, the Fagradalsfjall volcano in the southwest of Iceland began erupting.
The Icelandic Meteorological Office urged people not to go near the site, which is located some 32 kilometers southwest of the capital, Reykjavik. The eruption is not far from Keflavik Airport, but it remained open and no flights were disrupted.
